Diamond Auction Operations Processing Manager Job at The Rapaport Group
Leading auction house in New York City seeking an energetic and motivated individual with a passion for operations management who will assist in the preparation of our monthly diamond auctions.
The Rapaport Group is an international network of companies providing added value services that support the development of fair, transparent, competitive and efficient diamond and jewelry markets. Rapaport Auctions, a division of the Rapaport Group, holds monthly diamond auctions for the trade, catering to thousands of diamond manufacturers, dealers and retailers internationally. We are looking for an Operations Processing Manager to join our team.
The Operations Processing Manager’s responsibilities will include overseeing all intake and preparation for our Melee and Single Stone auctions.
This is a full-time position based in New York.
Duties:
- Process and receive all merchandise in preparation of auctions
- Manage and control all incoming and outgoing inventory
- Oversee employees on the Processing Team, including on-staff gemologists, processors, and sorters.
- Manage the overall flow and allocate and distribute work to the team to maintain smooth running operations and ensure the auctions are fully prepared on schedule
- Verify and ensure that all processes and procedures are being followed and oversee quality control
- Create and execute auction production schedules and work with monthly deadlines
- Maintain main tracking databases and files of all incoming and outgoing diamonds
- Perform data entry of all relevant diamond information for incoming auction lots and prepare all auction-related files and final catalogs
- Coordinate all shipments of merchandise to and from auction venues and clients before and after auctions
- Record, track, and update all client charges incurred each auction and update files accordingly
- Provide management with consistent and timely reporting related to auction processing, timelines, and production schedule
- Update trading accounts with relevant client information
- Conduct reporting before and after auctions
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
