Position Overview: *
Reporting to the Director of Performance Marketing and with a dotted line to the VP of Creative, the Designer is a multidisciplinary designer who can take a project from Creative Brief to execution across ideation to capturing photo, graphic design, motion graphics, reformatting assets and delivery. You will work closely with the Performance Marketing team to uplevel Blenders’ look-and-feel in paid advertising. This role will create beautiful, compelling assets and products that shape the Blenders advertising experience.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: *

  • Ideation: Works with the Performance Marketing team and Creative team to ideate and kickoff projects and campaigns that work within Marketing Briefs and brand standards while pushing the Blenders brand beyond where it has been historically
  • Presentation: Share ideas and concepts prior to execution that includes storyboarding, mockups, and shareable presentations for signoff across Creative & Marketing
  • Design Execution: Creates eye-catching designs to communicate the Blenders brand message while following Performance Marketing best practices; Concepts, designs, presents and implements thoughtful creative solutions that engage customers and communicate who we are
  • Photography: 1-3 years Photography experience required using a DSLR, mirrorless and iPhone. Knowledge of manual Photography settings, RAW image processing, and exporting photos
  • Delivery & Distribution: Works with the Performance Marketing team to deliver finished, proofed, final assets for internal and external distribution on time.
  • Communication: The Designer is a strong collaborator when seeking approval of ideas and art, both in person and virtual, and an expert at design time management.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Works alongside marketing and Creative teams in creating, visualizing and executing concepts for paid ads
  • Asset Maintenance & Organization: Maintains an organized system of the Blenders collateral, photos, image archive, and digital assets; Retouch and crop photos and images for digital use

Skills:

  • You have an eye for layouts, typography, illustration, motion graphics, photo retouching, design and how to communicate a message through the proper channels
  • You are able to own a project from start to finish, working autonomously, but welcoming feedback and collaboration
  • You have a thorough understanding of design and marketing, with the ability to vary style and layouts depending on the project
  • You have experience collaborating with a team to be successful in the accomplishment of its goals
  • You are a natural story-teller: You have the ability to visualize the story and communicate it to others effectively.
  • You are a strong communicator and have the ability to prioritize and manage work while adhering to critical timelines
  • You have the ability to bring new and innovative ideas

Work Requirements:

  • 3+ years of creative experience within a brand and an agency setting working across Branding, Graphic Design, Motion Graphics, Photo capture
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or a related field
  • A self starter able to produce, shoot, design and edit when directed
  • Strong experience with industry-standard design tools (e.g. Adobe Creative Cloud)
  • Strong experience using mockup apps like Sketch and/or Adobe XD
  • Proven editing and animation experience using Adobe Premiere and After Effects
  • Highly preferred work experience in outdoor & snow categories in addition to action sports
  • Must work onsite from the San Diego office on a hybrid schedule
  • Normal working hours are Monday through Friday (8:30AM-4:30PM)
