Sunrise Company, a developer of master-planned golf-course communities, has an immediate opening for a seasonal full-time Dining Room Manager at Toscana Country Club, a private equity golf club and luxury residential community located in Indian Wells, California. As the energetic social hub of the Toscana Community, the country club offers a truly private setting where members will enjoy camaraderie, relaxation and sport with friends and family, and an incomparable level of attention and service from our staff. The community features two 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Courses, a 90,000-square-foot Club Villa featuring an exceptional array of private club and spa amenities. The members are well traveled, knowledgeable and accustomed to high quality food and service and personal attention in a private club setting. At Toscana the members enjoy two dining experiences, Il Forno Trattoria and Lounge for elegant and intimate dining and a more relaxed dining experience at La Cucina that includes a lounge, covered terrace and display kitchen
The Position
The Dining Room Manager supports the dining room staff in delivering exceptional member service. This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of an upscale ala carte restaurant, hiring, training and supervising staff. The position requires a motivated team player that is an organized, detailed oriented person with a flexible personality that can successfully interact with members and staff and create a diverse and unique dining experience.
The Essential Duties of the Job -
Talks with all members to ensure their delight with the dining at the Club.
Plans and supervises dining room set-up based on reservations and events.
Maintains dining room reservation system.
Receives and resolves complaints concerning food, beverages, and service.
Conducts staff briefing before each shift.
Maintains the physical integrity of the dining room and furniture.
Prepares requested reports.
Knows the menu, prices, and policies on side dishes and substitutions.
Prepares voids on the POS system with written explanation.
Prepares staff schedules and displays them a week before schedule is needed.
Motivates staff by good example and fair treatment.
Sees that silver flatware and other service pieces are shined and clean.
Conducts and documents monthly safety meetings.
Conducts daily walk-through inspections of dining room and service areas.
Coaches, counsels and disciplines staff members within guidelines.
Consults with Assistant General Manager on employment and termination decisions.
Learns and demonstrates the skills required to advance within the company.
Implements improvements to operational systems and procedures.
Assists in meal or bar service, wine service, and table side cookery as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Assists the Food & Beverage Director in supervising Dining Room service staff.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 3 - 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualified candidate should have a minimum of 5years experience in all aspects of fine dining and food and beverage management preferably in a golf course community and extensive knowledge of wines.
Comprehension and Communication Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of members, guests or employees of organization.
Computer Skills
Must also be proficient in all Microsoft applications and Jonas software experience is an added advantage.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
