Job Description/Essential Functions:
MECA, a local non-profit organization, has been widely recognized for its services as a provider of community-based behavioral health, intellectually disabled and autistic adults in Philadelphia. Well established in the field of community-based residential services, MECA is widely recognized for its innovative approach to the delivery of services in a community setting. Currently, we are seeking Direct Care Staff.
This position provides care and supervision of all assigned residents to ensure a safe, healthy, secure and pleasant environment, which promotes growth and development.
· To facilitate client growth and development toward independence in self-care, daily living skills, socialization and community living.
· To participate in the development of the individual service plans and related documentation and document client progress as they move through the service delivery system.
Job Qualifications:
· Preferred Associates degree in the social sciences or health care related field and one year of relevant experience in the MH/MR field; or any combination of work experience, lived experience, education or training that would provide the level of knowledge, skill and ability. Minimal high school diploma required.
. Demonstrates crises intervention/prevention and de-escalation skills
· Good communication skills, both oral and written
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Must be available for local travel and possess a valid driver's license.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check
CPR/first aid and medication administration training preferred
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $10.00 - $13.00 per hour
