* General Information Job Title:Direct Care Supervisor - Residential Treatment Center Location: Wynantskill, NY, 12198 United States Employee Type:Non-Exempt Job Category:OCFS * DescriptionProvides leadership in conjunction with the House Manager in the overall management of living unit. This model reflects the mentoring, coaching and support of Direct Support Professional. The supervisor facilitates in the delivery of the program to assist individuals in acquiring the skills and self-esteem needed to establish and achieve personal goals. *Evenings 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm plus minimum one weekend shift.Primary Duties & Essential Functions*· Monitors, maintains and utilizes sound working knowledge of all program standards, (OCFS, CSE and HIPPA) as measured by:· Attends Orientation, Residential Day, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, CPR/First Aid and Med Training.· Completes/Delegates: monthly house audit, monthly fire drills, OCFS annual fire safety audit.· Provides individual supervision to employees per agency standards.· Provides a positive role model to staff and individuals receiving services.· In conjunction with Staff Development ensures staff receive appropriate training and provide training as signed.· Familiarizes self and others with each individual's service plan.· Will ensure census is completed before end of shift.· Maintains an environment that is safe by ensuring agency policies are upheld.· Provides care to individuals in an empowering culture.· Implements the program's daily schedule and ensure completion of routines and life skill activities.· Ensures that the daily schedule incorporate recreational and community activities.· Dispenses and/or oversees the dispensing of medication. Monitors procedures, ensuring that medications are inventoried and reordered as needed, in collaboration with nursing staff.· Participates in the Treatment Team, Clinical Management meetings, house issues & clinical groups. Facilitating meetings asdelegated.· Oversees allowances individual accounts, and all other funds connected to the living unit or service.· Preparing daily checklists.· Ensuring all receipts are processed and forwarded to the cottage.· Ensures dietary standards are follow i.e. appropriate snacks, portion size, and adherence to menu.· Oversees the purchasing of household supplies, program supplies and clothing.· Oversight of home visit transportation.· Providing a brief for assigned shift.· Awareness of location of all and individuals.· Review individual logs and ledgers to ensure completion.· Follows through on supervisory issues, corrective action plan, and supervisory memos.· Ensures yearly physicals for staff are completed.· Ensures that fire drill and environmental checklist are completed and forwarded to the appropriate department.· Creates an environment of care which reflects the individuality of the individuals in care.· Trains and provides staff with feedback on standards of cleanliness. * Requirements*Required Education, Knowledge and Skills*· Associates Degree preferred Promotes and supports cultural diversity and is sensitive to those served.· Has a high level of organizational skills.· Basis computer literacy.*Abilities and Working Conditions*· Fit for Duty Physical - required annually· Must be available to work a 40 hour work week - may include one weekend day or evening shift, additional hours of coverage, or holiday(s) that fall on your shift.· Must be able to lift 25 pounds· Must be able to stand and run for moderate periods of time· Must have a valid NYS driver's license· Must be able to perform restraints and maintains TCI certification· Willingness to respond to the needs of a culturally population * Summary_Vanderheyden is committed to the National Sanctuary Model - a blueprint for clinical and organizational change which, at its core, promotes safety and recovery from adversity through the active creation of a trauma-informed community.
