Optimize the Quality of Life For Individuals with Autism. The Direct Support Professional provides the appropriate therapeutically documented level of resident supervision and training to ensure and protect resident health and safety, while assisting residents to achieve increased independence through age appropriate, functional means. Under the general supervision of the Residence Manager, the Direct Support Professionals are the “core” of Anderson Center for Autism’s system of supports for individuals receiving services. The job of the DSP requires technical and values-based skills that make life-changing differences in the lives of the individuals they support

Responsibilities:

• Participates in and takes our individuals to company sponsored outings (Baseball games, bowling, dinners at restaurants, movies, etc.)
• Supports good health and safety (food prep, toileting, hygiene, bathing, etc.)
• Provides Person-Centered Supports
• Demonstrates Professionalism
• Builds and Maintains positive relationships
• Supports our individuals growth

Requirements:

• High School Diploma/GED
• NYS Drivers License preferred
• Must be able to work 2nd or 3rd shifts and weekends
• Must complete orientation and maintain training or qualifications as they relate to Anderson Center for Autism
