JC Lighthouse is a community-based organization. Our mission is to assist individuals who are displaced in our community and help them with their daily needs. We provide counseling, resources, empowerment, and workforce support as part of our Program. The purpose of the program is to support individuals who have mental health, behavioral health, and intellectual disabilities. Our team provides a safe and secure environment in their home and in the community.

Direct Support Professional (For High Level Youth Program)

The scope of services provided by this position utilize a broad array of intervention techniques required to effectively address individual’s needs. In this program, these may include behavior management, social competency, problem identification and resolution, effective communication, self-sufficiency, and life goals. In addition, intervention techniques include behavioral management, crisis management, social connection, resource support, separation, escalation techniques and elopement documentation. Applicants must be knowledgeable and demonstrate the following:

Essential Functions:

• Provide basic skills training and support for individuals after assessing their needs.
• Utilize a broad array of intervention technique required to effectively address individual’s needs.
• Understand and accurately complete BSP (Behavioral Support Plan), BPN (Behavior Progress Notes), SIB (Self-Injury Behavioral) notes and PCP (Person Centered Plan).
• Meet monthly utilization standards as required by supervisor.
• Complete accurately assessments identified (i.e., Risk Assessment, and Suicide/Homicidal Assessment).
• Work as a member of a team to develop, assign, and implement services to individuals with annual treatment and safety plans including explicit goals.
• Monitor and document treatment plan outcomes on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
• Complete timely billing and Date Assessment and Plan notes (DAP).
• Maintain flexible hours to meet the program needs and perform other duties as assigned or identified by supervisor, staff, individuals, referral sources, and the public.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must hold a bachelor's degree in a human services, social services, or behavioral field with additional understanding of RMH treatment services and case file documentation requirements. BA in Psychology preferred or
• Hold an AA degree in one of the above fields with at least two years of mental health work experience or
• Have at least 4 years of mental and behavioral health work experience working with High level individuals.

• Must have working knowledge of DSM 5 diagnostic process.
• Must have strong boundaries and the ability to maintain patience with a variety of personalities.
• Must be willing to work based on a shift schedule.
• Must be CPI trained or receive CPI training within the first two weeks of training.
• Must have people skills and work well with others.
• Must be willing to work closely in a team environment.
• Must be 21 years old or older.
• Must have reliable transportation, a valid Driver's License, current registration, and vehicle insurance for this position.
• Must be able to pass a Washoe County Department of Social Services (WCDSS) background check and be Medicaid approved.
• AHA/ Red Cross CPR certification and a clear TB test is mandatory.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
