Direct Support Professional/Job Coach Job at Emory Valley Center
Emory Valley Center is an agency that supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We seek a compassionate, enthusiastic staff member to join our Employment Services team, assisting people with disabilities in their workplace.
The Job Coach position requires you to take people with disabilities to seek and obtain employment, teach job skills, and transport people to and from work. You will remain with people while they work and provide them support if needed.
Compensation: Pay is $14.50 per hour plus mileage reimbursement. $500 Sign-On Bonus!
JOB DUTIES
- Provide job coaching, instruction, and training for job placements and/or worksites. Consistently model appropriate work maturity, skill, appropriate appearance, and dress, suited for representing Emory Valley Center to community employers.
- Ensure safety is always being maintained in the work environment.
- Willing and able to work with person’s supported requiring assistance with personal care, in a respectful and professional manner when necessary.
- Participate in meetings as necessary to report on the persons’ supported progress.
- Complete documentation of support services rendered using a computer.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 1 year of Direct Support Professional or Job Coach experience.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds (weight of average manual wheelchair when chair is empty).
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Acceptable criminal background check & drug screen results
- Valid Tennessee driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
- Road-safe vehicle that can transport 3 adults plus driver and auto insurance.
