Job Summary:
The role of the Director of the Office of Admissions, Recruitment, and Outreach (Director) is heavily focused on running the day-to-day operations and problem solving within a centralized environment of a medium-sized, multi-campus/site university. In conjunction with senior administration and university partner(s), the Director will also assist with the development of the annual recruitment plan, as well as the implementation and management of the CRM platform.
Key areas of responsibility include recruitment, undergraduate admissions, and new student transition strategies including freshmen, transfer, and international students. The Director leads all recruitment and enrollment initiatives, including external recruitment, on-campus visitation, admissions evaluation, orientation programs, and associated project management in support of the university's enrollment goals.
Duties and responsibilities:
Manage a staff of 5 or more employees
Create and refine various recruiting and admissions initiatives
Ensure a high-quality application/admission experience, by ensuring that staff maintain accurate records and promptly respond to inquiries from incoming and current students, as well as Langston University staff and faculty
Identify and initiate relationships with external partners (i.e. high schools, community colleges, and college advocacy groups)
Interview and assist in the hiring process for department staff
Attend meetings, seminars, workshops, recruiting events, etc., as a representative of Langston University
In collaboration with the Office of the Registrar, develop and maintain transfer articulation guides for a variety of feeder schools to support transfer admissions
Develop and execute a plan of action to meet established freshmen enrollment goal
Develop and execute a plan of action to ensure effective graduate admission process, including collaboration with appropriate academic schools and department chairs
In collaboration with other University entities, actively participate in strategies that lead to increased year to year student retention, thus contributing to an increased graduation rate
Develop and support a collaborative effort that includes all University campus locations and promotes and supports career track recruitment including development of career pathways for recruitment purposes
Demonstrate clear, effective, and consistent communication with multiple internal and external entities
Effectively build and maintain relationships with university leadership, faculty and staff, as well as high school counselors, and feeder college representatives
Contributes to the overall success of admissions, enrollment and retention by advising and assisting the Assistant Vice President for Strategic Enrollment and Advising Services in all aspects relating to the recruitment and admission of students and by performing all other administrative duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
Master's Degree
Five years of relevant experience, to include: constituent relationship management (CRM) experience, ability to supervise, train, motivate, mentor, and manage a full-time team in a high performing organization, and fiscal management
Strong critical and analytical thinking skills, ability to clearly and concisely communicate with internal and external audiences
Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with a diverse student body, faculty, staff, administrators, alumni, and the public.
Ability to travel for institutional directives
Ability to on occasion, work outside of traditional work schedule
The Director reports to the Assistant Vice President for Strategic Enrollment and Advising Services and participates with the Office of Student Financial Aid and the University College in a team-centered, student focused, approach to strategic enrollment management.
