The programs Perimeter of West Memphis offers are designed to create an emotionally safe experience for our patients, families and staff be it in our acute care or residential treatment setting. The Director of Environment of Care’s responsibilities include the following:
- Oversee the operations of the Maintenance, Housekeeping, Transportation and Dietary services of the Hospital.
- Ensure all Life/Safety Codes are properly completed and maintained as prescribed by Federal, State, and local regulations including Joint Commission and AHCA.
- Conduct Safety Rounds on a regular basis within the Hospital.
- Ensure all regular maintenance is properly completed by hospital staff or contractors.
- Ensure all Construction contractors are oriented to the facility and safety standards and their crew are properly trained and credentialed.
- Ensure all inventory are properly ordered and maintained for regular use and for emergency needs for inclement weather.
- Assist in preparing the Hospital for any disasters.
- Assist in the transportation of patients for Admission and Discharges
Qualified candidates for the Director of Environment of Care should have the following:
- Prefer some college regarding project management, plant operations or related field. Must have a minimum of a High School Diploma.
- Must have a minimum of 1-year management experience as a Director of Plant Operations and/or Maintenance in a hospital setting preferably in behavioral health.
- Must be knowledgeable of all Life Safety Codes pertaining to hospitals
- Knowledgeable and able to observe all safety measures.
- Knowledgeable of electrical and mechanical equipment and able to properly maintain department’s tools and equipment.
- Able to do routine labor and lift at least 60 pounds.
- Must have Driver’s License within the State of Arkansas and an excellent motor vehicle record.
- Must be able to take on-call on a routine basis for the Hospital
- Able to prepare reports for the quality assurance/performance improvement committees
