Terrific Director of Communications and Public Relations (DCPR) position with an international nonprofit focused on women's rights. Working closely with the President and Executive Director, the DCPR will actively create content on various topics for diverse audiences, including governments and international organizations. The DCPR will be well-versed on policy and be responsible for advising organizational leadership on talking points for various speaking engagements. The Director will manage and mentor a team of two. Qualified candidates should have approximately 5+ years of relevant experience. Candidates should also possess issue-based advocacy experience in women's rights, international development, or a related area. The salary range for this position is $85,000 to $115,000 per year. This is a remote role that can be based in the US Eastern time zone or EU countries.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with leadership on communications, policy, and advocacy matters
  • Ensure that members of the leadership team are prepared to speak at engagements with various governments, the UN, and other stakeholders
  • Create and edit content, including press releases, policy summaries, speeches, briefings, and other related materials
  • Act as an organization representative; respond to requests for comment and other information requests
  • Coordinate with media on behalf of the organization
  • Manage, mentor, and train a team of two
Qualifications:
  • Approximately 5+ years of relevant communications, public relations, or policy experience
  • Bachelor's degree; significant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Familiarity with international development, women's rights, gender-based violence, and/or genocide prevention strongly preferred
  • Ability to interface with government contacts and partners at all levels
  • Some experience preparing for government meetings
  • Flexible and able to work with a geographically dispersed team across different time zones
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
