The Director of Community Life will help the community to maintain its reputation of partnering with its residents to provide community and peace of mind. T he ideal candidate will have had experience (or responsible for) varied business lines within an organization reporting to him or her , managing multiple stakeholders (staff, clients, community members) toward a common goal; and develop ed and coach ed a team that is responsible for a significant part of an organization. To accomplish this, the ideal candidate will need , an innovative mindset, strong leadership, critical thinking skills, an ability to work with multiple stakeholders , and the ability to foster relationshi ps.

Director of Community Life

The Director of Community Life will help the community to maintain its reputation of partnering with its residents to provide community and peace of mind. Responsibilities:
- Overall responsibility for setting the strategic direction for meeting the needs of current and future residents.
- Directs activities, transportation, social events, social work, and fitness and reception staff to include hiring, training, evaluating and ensuring that service performance standards are met.
- Provides leadership to resident services, fitness and campus services. Use influence to bridges operations with marketing/sales and the health care team.
- Comfortable with building relationships through extensive direct interaction with seniors at many levels.
- Creative problem solving in order to improve resident and staff life.
- Serves as the staff liaison to the Country Store. Oversees Beauty Salon operations.
- Facilitates and participates in monthly planning meetings with the activities/social events and marketing departments. Is active in the greater Exeter area helping to promote RiverWoods Exeter.
- Develops and delivers on boarding for new employees in the Community Life department, ensuring that new hires are well positioned for success in their new role.
- Maintains policy and procedure manual and resident handbook.
- Encourages and supports residents in facilitating RiverWoods Exeter Resident Committees. May attend forums, council meetings and other meetings as the staff liaison.
- Maintains confidentiality of resident, staff, Board, family, legal and budgetary matters.
- Develops, schedules and coordinates with other department managers monthly orientation for new residents of the community.
- 2-5 years successful leadership experience within a high quality, service oriented organization.
- Experience leading a team with responsibility for a large portion of the business
- An effective communicator with a high level of personal energy and leadership skills who can strike a balance between service demand and financial sustainability.
- The ability to take work seriously but not self. A sense of humor is a must.
- Prior experience in Continuing Care Retirement Communities a plus, not necessary
- Bachelor's Degree required (Master's degree preferred)
