Position Overview
Ashley Stewart is seeking an experienced Director, Corporate Systems. Sitting within the IT team, the Director, of Corporate Systems is accountable for ensuring the corporate application portfolio effectively enables the business for growth and scale. This includes identifying and recommending process improvements as well as development and maintenance/support of the systems. This role will manage a team of 4-6 developers, business analysts, and/or product managers.

Ashley Stewart is seeking an experienced Director, Corporate Systems. Sitting within the IT team, the Director, of Corporate Systems is accountable for ensuring the corporate application portfolio effectively enables the business for growth and scale. This includes identifying and recommending process improvements as well as development and maintenance/support of the systems. This role will manage a team of 4-6 developers, business analysts, and/or product managers.
Responsibilities
- Assess effectiveness and efficacy of corporate application portfolio; identify gaps and make recommendations.
- Drive requirements definition, software evaluation/selection, and implementation of new tools to satisfy architectural gaps, e.g., assortment planning software and a new MMS to replace JDA
- Provide day-to-day application support direction for SaaS and legacy systems in concert with CIO and other IT leaders.
- Demonstrate visible, active leadership for the corporate systems area, consistently acting with a sense of urgency.
- Partner with business leaders to determine the priority of tickets based on business impact.
- Collaborate with system integrator and third-party vendors in achieving timely delivery of resolutions.
- Work with internal and external IT teams to track delivery solutions to defined architectural standards.
- Lead, align, influence, and collaborate across organizational boundaries within IT and business functions (e.g., project teams, functions, and partner organizations) without direct authority.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field.
- Retail Industry experience required
- Experience leading at least 1-2 ERP implementations through full SDLC, NetSuite AFA is a plus.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in application development/support or related information technology experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience at a director level - leading, coaching, and mentoring IT developers.
- Experience with structured development processes & methodologies – full SDLC, Agile, Waterfall
- Advanced experience with systems integration, APIs, and pre-built connectors
- Ability to implement and enforce best practices in software development / DevOps
- Experience in IT project and services delivery
- In-depth functional knowledge of omnichannel retail systems and processes.
- Ability to explain complex ideas to those with limited IT and systems knowledge
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Listening ability and patience, critical thinking skills
- Extraordinary customer service and relationship management experience
- Proficient ability to remain highly effective under stress and respond to pressure in a manner acceptable to others and to the organization.
- Implement best practices in software delivery and standard operating procedures
- Ensure creation and maintenance of technical documents, diagrams, and procedures
- Identifying and resolving technical issues
- Strong knowledge of product lifecycle and merchandising data flows, relevant KPIs, operational and dashboard reports, experience working with 3PLs for fulfillment (Radial), experience with multiple applications – Salesforce SFRA/OMS), PLM, Impact Analytics, NetSuite AFA (Apparel Footwear Accessories), Ceridian HRIS, Real Estate, JDA MMS (or other merchandising systems), PowerBI SaaS, Jira, Confluence, 0365, MS Office, Duo.
