The Director of Dining Services responsibilities include but are not limited:
The Director of Dining Services is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operations of the Culinary Department in accordance with current standards, guidelines, and regulations governing our property, and as may be directed by the Executive Director, to assure that quality nutritional services are provided on a daily basis and that the department is maintained in a clean, safe and sanitary manner.
The ideal candidate will have strong talents and experience and will work to create a fun and exciting work atmosphere, leading our culinary team to provide a world class dining experience for residents, meeting or exceeding all standards of quality, productivity, customer service.
Strong emphasis is placed on a “hands on” approach to meal preparation and service, with frequent participation on the cook line, assistance in food delivery, and general customer service interaction with the residents.
Other job duties:
Hire, evaluate, coordinate, motivate, monitor performance, schedule and supervise department staff in accordance with company policy. Make recommendations to the Executive Director with respect to staff evaluations, merit pay increases, reprimands, disciplinary actions and terminations.
Conduct prepared in-service classes for all culinary staff according to a posted schedule.
Plan, prepare, present and deliver all meals served within the property.
Maintain accurate budget, inventory and portion controls and work within the guidelines set forth in the budget.

Experience: 2-5 years as a supervisor/ manager in dining services in a large or medium size kitchen environment, health care experience is a huge plus!
Education: High school Education with college courses or other education in food services.
Skills Sets: Budgeting experience, oral, written and communication, physical requirements of lifting, standing for long periods of time and good physical health verified by a health screening .
