Merraine Group is proud to announce that we have been exclusively retained by Bath Community Hospital (BCH) for their next Director of Finance. BCH, established in 1916, is a 25-bed, not-for-profit, critical access hospital located in Hot Springs, VA. BCH is the only remaining independent CAH in Virginia. BCH provides a full range of services from rehab, in/outpatient care, surgical services, behavioral health, emergency, diagnostic, respite care and swing bed rehabilitation accompanied with a complete staff of specialty physicians.

Position Summary

The Director of Finance will report to the CFO and will be responsible for planning, organizing and directing BCH’s annual operating budget and monitoring its financial performance. This is a vital role in the continued growth and future success of BCH. The Director of Finance will have the opportunity to grow into the CFO role within the next few years.

Position Focus Director of Finance

• Annual budget development, budget variance analysis, and cost accounting.
• Prepare and distribute decision support analyses to meet the operational and financial needs.
• Prepare monthly financial statements for BCH, coordinate the preparation of BCH’s annual operating budget, file cost reports, tax returns and various other reports with the appropriate regulatory agencies.
• Coordinate BCH’s annual outside audit.

Requirements Director of Finance

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Master’s Degree in Business or Healthcare Administration preferred.
• CPA desired.
• Five years of progressive management experience in healthcare required.
• Experience in a Critical Access Hospital environment highly preferred.
• Experience with MS Access would be beneficial.
