Key Human Services has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Health Care Services to work out of our Wethersfield, CT office.

The Director of Health Care Services is responsible to provide direction and supervision to Registered Nurses (RN) and ensure the provision of excellent health care services. This position will work collaboratively with people at various levels of the organization and outside organizations to address the medical needs of the individuals in adherence with Keystone’s mission and in compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitors and coordinates health care functions to assure consistency and regulatory compliance in service delivery
  • Provide direct nurse consultation; develops and implements health care services for persons supported in accordance with their needs and support plans
  • Oversees the submission of medical reviews and recommendations
  • Reviews billing for nursing services rendered according to applicable regulations
  • Ensures quality services are provided and documentation is consistent with organizational requirements, and all applicable guidelines and regulations
  • Responds to and provides clear direction in emergency or crisis situations
  • Oversees the development of quarterly medical progress reports and monitors follow up on recommendations
  • Ensures nurses monitor necessary medical appointments, secure relevant documentation of medical visits, and review ongoing medical notes
  • Monitors medication administration process to ensure compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, regulations and laws, including destruction and disposal of medications
  • Completes quarterly medication reviews and inspections of medical files and supplies
  • Develops, prepares and delivers training and education on relevant medical topics to all employees, in compliance with policy and regulations
  • Participate in licensing inspections, audits and investigatory process as required or requested
  • Remains abreast of services, topics and best practices in the areas of health care service delivery

Requirements:
  • Must possess current valid RN licensure; Certified Developmental Disabilities Nurse (CDDN) certification preferred
  • At least three (3) years of work experience in the medical field, preferably in working with individuals diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Supervisory experience is required
  • Ability to apply proficient computer skills, including the use of software and web based systems
  • Must demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to read, interpret and apply policies and regulations
  • Able to pass all required background checks and clearances
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have daily access to a properly insured vehicle

Position Details:
  • Salary range between $95,000 – $100,000
