Job Summary and Qualifications

As the Corporate Director of Human Resources, you will provide strategic HR and talent support to line of business (LOB) executives at a national, regional or multi entity level. You will work to create the desired workplace culture, an engaged and productive workforce through HCA’s policies, programs and practices. You will serve as a senior member of the line of business (LOB) HR team and may take on more strategic activities with the senior team.

What you will do in this role:

  • Support executives with growth initiatives through acquisitions and expanded business services
  • Support Labor Relations strategy (i.e., grievance procedures must involve Labor Relations)
  • Implement business performance, quality, and patient care initiatives
  • You will collaborate with executives and HR Vice Presidents to uphold all compliance standards and create an environment of compliance excellence
  • Execute HR operational excellence
  • Work with leadership and all HR Centers of Excellence to give feedback on strategies and programs to more effectively meet the needs of businesses
  • Support utilization of the HR support model
  • Participate in business strategic planning and review cycles and proactively work with Centers of Excellence (COE) teams to identify and deploy HR interventions
  • Serve as strategic advisor for the continuity of the business initiatives nationally or regionally
  • Support Employee & Community Engagement
  • Interpret and drive national or regional action planning as a result of employee engagement survey
  • You will counsel leaders, managers and employees on situational issues, resolve employee conflicts and engage LOB executive or LOB HRVP or Regional HRVP as appropriate
  • Advise LOB executives on effective employee communication techniques.
  • Partner with the LOB national or regional executive leadership and the LOB HRVP to analyze and prioritize the critical business challenges faced by the organization, and deploy appropriate HR interventions in collaboration with appropriate COEs
  • Advise LOB executives and LOB HRVPs on change management, performance issues, responding to employee or community concerns, compliance or ethics investigations, etc.
  • Council executives and leaders through change management, performance management issues, discipline procedures, consult on suspension or termination of employment actions, provide information on RIF processes and severance
  • Deploy development programs
  • Support employee relations, ethics, or compliance investigations
  • Advise LOB executives on learning and organizational development
  • Deploy HCA career development program tools and processes
  • Working with regional and national COE representatives and LOB HRVPs, deploy performance management/appraisal program tools and processes in their assigned facility areas
  • Support measurement of productivity and addressing of productivity
  • Prepare LOB executives for the compensation planning process and provide compensation budget information
  • Work with executives on workforce planning, including position control/review, aligning with budget, productivity metrics, resourcing processes

What you should have for this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7 or more years of relevant work experience
  • PHR is preferred but not required
