Purchasing Director

Creole Cuisine Restaurant Concepts, home office in New Orleans, LA, is seeking to fill the Purchasing Director position. Our organization is comprised of 40+ locations, including special events venues, in the New Orleans area.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

Acquire and purchase products, equipment and supplies at a competitive price, on time and under budget to ensure Operations has all items required to operate efficiently. Provide leadership to the buyer on your team. Clear and concise communication with executive leadership. The Buyer is responsible to help other department personnel determine the most suitable product or service to meet their needs considering the objective of the entire organization. It is the responsibility of the Buyer to find the best source to meet the organizations objectives and prepare the documentation for that agreement. The Buyer will follow-up or expedite orders to see that they are delivered as scheduled. The Buyer will represent the Company in a professional manner, treating all suppliers fairly and equally.

General requirements:

• 3 to 5 years of purchasing experience, preferably in a fast-paced multi-unit environment
• Highly organized and detail oriented. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Must be able to multi task and work in a fast-paced environment, remain organized and consistently produce a work product that is suited for self-review and efficient review by others
• Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Applications, in particular using Excel to analyze and organize data for decision making
• Ability to analyze and make competent decisions independently or with little direction
• Effective verbal and written communication skills

Required experience:

• purchasing: 3 to 5 years
• Excellent negotiation skills
