This includes design, development and implementation of organizational short and long-term training plans, asset utilization, and budgetary conditions in the context of our vision and mission.

Director of Standardization and Training- Remote
- Competitive starting salaries from $135,000 - $145,000 (DOE)

Position Summary: The Director of Aviation Standardization and Training will be responsible for supervising all aspects of the Flight Department training operations and ensuring all aircraft procedures are standardized across the REACH Air Medical Services fleet. This includes design, development and implementation of organizational short and long-term training plans, asset utilization, and budgetary conditions in the context of our vision and mission.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Under the general guidance and direction of the Director of Operations, the Director of Aviation Standardization and Training will have responsibility and oversight for the following functional areas:
Flight Department:
- Participates as a member of the management team to promote a successful operation.
- Responsibility for overseeing the flight training department and operations including staffing, job scope per the operational needs of the program.
- Manages, prepares, and maintains proficiency records, pilot files, reports and correspondence pertaining to ground and flight training records of aviation personnel.
- Responsible for the development and management of the training departments fiscal budget.
- Manages the professional development and evaluation of the training department staff which includes performance management, recruitment and discharge as needed.
- Interfaces with the Chief Pilot in the oversight of flight operations, formulating operations policies, coordinates those policies, and coordinates operations and training.
- Interfaces with the Chief Pilot in regulatory upkeep of FAR 91, 135, 8900, Advisory Circulars, Notices, Operating Specifications, General Operations Manual, SOP's, and the best practices of AMRM.
- Assists the Chief Pilot in investigations on any aviation mishaps investigations and root cause analysis as requested.
- Participates in the organizations FAA voluntary reporting programs as well as all company internal reporting programs.
- Advises the Director of Operations and Chief Pilot regarding out-of-compliance issues and notifies the proper authorities as appropriate (FAA, NTSB, etc.)
- Ensures that all flight operations are conducted safely and in compliance with all FARs, Operations Manual, Operations Specifications and Company Policies.
- Responsibility for the development and management of all company aircraft checklists.
- Oversees the development and implementation of flight and ground training schedules.
- Coordinates training requirements:
- Sets standardization expectations - train the trainers.
- Flight Instructor/Ground Instructor schedule.
- Aircraft availability and schedule.
- Student availability and schedule.
- FAA and/or check airman availability and schedule.
- Coordination of company required ground training that requires a pilot, such as, AMRM, QAB testing, outside organizational training, etc.
- Performs audits in accordance with company assurance practices in the areas of:
- Training Records.
- Responsible for standardization/check instructor pilot schedules and participates in the establishment of duty hours.
- Constantly looks for ways to enhance the efficiency and safety of all facets of flight training.
- Maintains close communication with leadership team and participates in and facilitates problem-solving, process improvement and internal customer relations.
- Gain thorough knowledge of all aircraft operated by the Company, although not required to be current in each aircraft.
Regulatory:
- Ensures that the Company remains in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations as it pertains to pilot flight training requirements.
- Provides liaison to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), but not named on Part 135 Certificate.
- Maintains administrative oversight of managing all pilot flight training records and represents the company during any FAA audits of pilot training records.
- Ensures that all scheduled and unscheduled training is completed as required by Federal Aviation Regulations, company Training Manual, specific Aircraft Flight Manual, and other company policies and procedures.
Management:
- Provides Chief Pilot with timely and accurate reports as to the status of pilot training requirements. At a minimum, the report will include present training status of each pilot, future training to be accomplished and resources that will be needed to complete the required training.
- Promotes and instills "Safety Is Our First Priority" attitude for all of our flight crewmembers.
- Maintains inventory and accounts for all training equipment.
- Assists with the recruitment and hiring of pilots as required.
- Provides budgetary information to upper management as required.
- Establishes and maintains liaison with the Clinical Department for fulfillment of medical crew flight training requirements.
- Coordinate and oversee the onboarding process for newly hired pilots.
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent knowledge and experience preferred.
- 3000 hours PIC time; 500 hours of night experience; 200 hours of IFR experience.
- 3000 hours Helicopter PIC preferred.
- Single Pilot IFR experience.
- Preference is given to applicants who have an ATP rating.
- Commercial rated multi-engine airplane or helicopter license, plus at least five (5) years experience in management which includes supervision, budgetary and safety.
- FAA CFI/CFII or Military Standardization Instructor Pilot/Instrument Flight experience.
- Check airman experience preferred.
- Highly knowledgeable of the Operations Manual, FARs, Operations Specifications, Flight Manuals, etc., and other instructions pertinent to flight operations.
- Ability to think strategically while attending to details.
- Skills in observations, assessment and creative problems solving.
- Ability to communicate professionally, effectively and persuasively both orally and in writing at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to maintain composure under pressure, work effectively and accurately with frequent interruptions, and set and reset multiple priorities.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and Powerpoint.

- Ability to hear routine aircraft and medical equipment noises.
- Must be able to wear a commercially available respirator mask with proper fit, when required.

- Periodic hands to key ability (typing).
