G&S Foods is a central PA based snack food company operating in Abbottstown, PA. We are a co-manufacturer of sweet and salty snacks from popcorn to chocolate-covered pretzels. We are hiring for a Director of Technical Services. Be a part of our continued Growth & Success at G&S Foods!

The Director of Technical Services’ primary mission is to establish and maintain plans to ensure the safety of all products. The Director of Technical Services will work with customers to create new products, meet customer ingredient requirements, and advise customers of ingredient and nutritional requirements to ensure that products are properly labeled.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Confer with management to establish production and quality control standards, develop budget and cost controls, and obtain data regarding ingredient and nutritional requirements
• Coordinate staff schedules for optimum utilization of human resources
• Develop and implement operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality
• Develop maintenance and manufacturing departments by training, interacting and accountability
• Direct and coordinate processes needed for compliance for both customer audits and audits for specialized certifications
• Direct and coordinate, through subordinate supervisory personnel, activities concerned with the quality of company products, utilizing knowledge of product technology, production methods and procedures, and customer requirements
• Meet budgetary goals in the following areas: labor variance, ingredient variance, indirect accounts, waste and downtime
• Oversee compliance with GFSI certification
• Oversee the sanitation department to ensure that production facility and equipment is clean and in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) regulations
• Oversee the training of quality and sanitation departments
• Review and analyze quality control reports and procedures to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications and operating or production problems

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous supervisory experience required

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Regularly required to talk and hear.
• Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.

• Infrequently required to lift and / or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required of this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and peripheral vision.
