JOB SUMMARY

St. Mary's Health System, a member of Covenant Health, is searching for a Director of Quality and Performance Improvement to lead, plan, direct and coordinate the Covenant Quality program within the facility. The Director will ensure that performance management and quality improvement programs are developed and managed using a data-driven focus that sets priorities for improvements that are aligned with strategic initiatives, mission, vision and values system-wide. They will promote a culture of continuous improvement that leads to sustained results and optimal performance.

Key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Leads efforts at the facility and system level to create efficient, reliable and cost-effective processes which support the provision of high-quality patient care.
  • Demonstrates expertise in data management and the use of analytical and statistical tools to identify trends in current processes and systems.
  • Uses a range of quality improvement tools and techniques to evaluate and successfully redesign processes toward improved performance
  • Transforms data into actionable information and communicates performance improvement priorities and results using narrative and the appropriate methods of data visualization.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, healthcare administration or related field required
  • Master's degree preferred, or willing to obtain within 2 years of hire
  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license preferred
  • CPHQ certification preferred, ability to obtain certification within one year of hire required

Experience:

  • Five or more years of previous clinical experience in an acute care setting required
  • Three or more years of progressively responsible experience in Quality Management required
  • Knowledge in accreditation processes/standards required
  • Must possess a strong knowledge of clinical processes and operations in a health care system
  • Current computer skills, graphics, spreadsheets and presentation software are essential (MS office, Access)

  • Proven quantitative and analytic skills relevant to the role
  • Strong critical thinking skills, including business writing skills
  • Demonstrable commitment to the highest standard of ethical and professional conduct
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Adaptability and flexibility required

Pay: $102,000.00 - $138,000.00 per year
