SUMMARY

The Dispatcher role is a customer facing role that is responsible for safely and effectively organizing, planning and coordinating driver assignments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Ensure trucks leaving the facility meet legal weight requirements.
• Confer with plant personnel to establish driver schedules and assignments.
• Issue billing tickets to drivers for appropriate material.
• Communicate effectively with customers and drivers providing concise instruction or information.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with customers and drivers.
• Act as backup scalehouse operator if needed within other locations.
• Cleans scales, scalehouse and surrounding areas.
• Adhere to and follow all safety rules and regulations.
• Use effective listening skills to collect required information or to identify potential problems/warning signs and escalate when necessary.
• Must perform other duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Prior logistics or customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Must be a self-starter with excellent problem solving skills.
• Must have basic computer skills.
• Must be able to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety protocols and procedures.
• Must be able to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time.
• Must maintain constant awareness of safety and efficiency and display adaptability and out of the box thinking with the capability to solve problems.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Perform all work in accordance with YBP Safety policies.
• The work is performed in an office environment with minimal noise, depending upon the operation of various office equipment; this will include phones, scanners, copiers, etc.
• Capable of operating various types of office equipment including but not limited to computers, copiers, and scanners.

PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES

• Physical demands include but are not limited to walking, sitting, bending, stooping, and lifting – 25 pounds minimum.
