Role Details:
SUMMARY
Compiles and maintains records of business transactions and office activities of distribution facility by performing the following duties
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned
- Files and follows up on claims with vendors and the railroad
- Handles customer paperwork and customer requests
- Works with Headquarters, Retail Stores and Vendors to maintain accurate records
- Assists in scheduling appointments for 3rd party carriers on inbound and outbound freight
- Provide ongoing administrative support to the Burnet Distribution team with various administrative duties.
- Responsible for answering calls and directing them to the appropriate person or assisting the caller with their needs.
- Coordinates with the distribution supervisors on all inbound and outbound shipments, will calls and other customer service issues
- Follows Standard Operating Procedures when carrying out position responsibilities
- Attends and participates in all store meetings, training sessions, and company-sponsored programs as required
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six to nine months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- Ability to utilize company point-of-sale system (MAC21), Microsoft Word & Excel, and other 3rd party software applications at an intermediate level
WORK AVAILABILITY
- Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined by management
- Must be regularly available and willing to work at least 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week or such other hours per day or hours per week as the employer determines are necessary or desirable to meet business needs
- Must be available and willing to work such overtime per day or per week as the employer determines is necessary or desirable to meet business needs
- Must be available and willing to work such weekends and holidays as the employer determines are necessary or desirable to meet its business needs
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- This position requires occasional travel with occasional overnight stays
- Must meet driver’s license and driver eligibility requirements of the Company
- Must have current auto liability insurance
- Must be able to use company or personal vehicle to conduct bank runs, file for liens or NSF checks, or represent McCoy’s in small claims proceedings
