Position Summary

The Donor Relations Specialist’s primary role is to assess and respond to the needs of past, current, and potential major donors to Home of Hope. The Donor Relations Specialist role is focused on identifying and strengthening relationships with community stakeholders, actively pursuing and managing corporate and individual leads, and fostering strong donor and sponsor stewardship. This position will be directly involved in planning and executing strategies for development and cultivation of donor relationships, enhancing donor appreciation, and promoting planned giving and endowment funding. All activities will be conducted in collaboration with and under direct supervision of the Chief Executive Officer of the organization.

Key responsibilities:

· Develop and cultivate relationships with individual donors and donor groups.

· Participate in development of, and work on a daily basis from, Home of Hope’s Moves Management model, working to assess and meet the needs of past, present, and potential donors and to connect these individuals and corporations to the aspects of Home of Hope’s mission where their passions lie.

· Collect, organize, and maintain donor notes and a complete and accurate donor data base in collaboration with Finance Department and the Executive Assistant of the organization.

· Connect to volunteers and auction participants who are identified as potential major donors to the organization.

· Plan and coordinate donor relationship events to cultivate relationships with current and future donors.

· Where appropriate, participate directly in requests of individual donations (whether financial or in-kind), corporate donations, sponsorships, or other forms of donation, as well as in the expressions of appreciation and further cultivation of such donors.

· Fulfills other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in business, non-profit management, fundraising, or related field such as communications, public relations, or marketing preferred.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Exceptional interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.

· Self-motivated and able to work independently.

· Experience in nonprofit and/or human service field preferred.Development coordinators must have strong leadership skills to manage volunteers and successfully run events. Organization skills are also a big must, as the development coordinator often handles many unique tasks at once. Additionally, they must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access to maintain the fundraising database and keep track of other documents. A bachelor's degree or more in a field related to the organization's mission typically is preferred.

· Must possess valid driver’s license with a good driving history.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $40,000.00 per year
