RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide production CAD support by developing, implementing, and enforcing client standards while supplying technical support for all CAD related software.
• Prepare clean, complete, and accurate documents and working drawings (including details) from rough or detailed specifications or sketches as prepared by the engineer by performing the following duties:
  • Following drawing production and client standards.
  • Preparing construction and demo drawings (as required) submittal packages.
  • Preparing quality checks on final drawings and layouts using QA/QC checklists.
  • Cleaning and organizing CAD files for project closeout.
  • Set up project drawing files, schedule drawing completions.
• Develop single lines, three lines, AC and DC schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, sections and details using Auto CAD and/or MicroStation.
• Maintain CAD document archive and retrieval for projects and the integrity of the drawings and its system.
• Act as a liaison for operations, project engineering teams, and vendors.
• Check dimensions and parts, insert/modify cells and blocks into individual drawings.
• Assist the Engineer with coordination and shop drawing review during the final administration of projects.
• Organizes CAD drawings and files.
• Subject matter expert (SME) for client’s document control system, and responsible for accurate transmittals per client requirements.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• AA/AS degree in Computer Aided Software Design, Engineering Technology, or related.
• Proficient in AutoCAD (and/or AutoCAD 2D, AutoCAD 3D, AutoCAD Electrical).
• Intermediate drafting and design skills.
• Ability to apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry.
• Ability to both work well in a team and independently.
• Ability to effectively handle multiple projects concurrently.
• Ability to create aesthetically pleasing and useable drawings.
• Effective presentation skills.

HIGHLY DESIRED SKILLS:

• MicroStation software experience.
• Strong communications and interpersonal skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Job will generally be performed in an office environment, with occasional site visits for projects that warrant it.
