Description
- Responsible for drilling quality primary blast holes, drilling to proper depth and proper collaring of drill holes
- Operates manual drills requiring monitoring manual gauges and manual operation and/or automated drill requiring use on online GPS system and monitoring of computer screens
- Manually measures drill holes after drilling, drills secondary blast holes as needed, moves and positions power cables when operating drill around shovels
- Identify and report any mechanical issues on drill steels, change bits and stabilizers and assist mechanics with pipe changes.
- Communicates and interacts with blasting crew to properly clear drill for blasting
- May be required to operate other pieces of mobile equipment as necessary for business needs
- Perform other duties as required
Qualifications
- Six (6) months of mobile equipment operating experience

High School diploma or GED
- Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
- Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
- Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
- Personal protective equipment is required on a regular basis, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and, as needed: respirator, rubber steel-toed boots, gloves, fall protection, protective clothing, goggles, face shield and other protective equipment as required
- Employee may be required to work in environments that may include exposure to extreme temperatures, humidity, dust, noise, fumes, and gasses
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on uneven work surfaces and work on elevated platforms
- Frequently may be required to lift up to 50 pounds during the course of the work day
- May be required to work a non-standard schedule which may include shift work (other than day shift) in a 24/7/365 operation

Compensation:
The estimated pay range for this role is currently $23.00 - $30.00/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
