Dual Brand Director of Sales Job at Holiday Inn and Suites - Joliet Southwest
We are looking for an experienced Director of Sales and Catering for a 120 Holiday Inn with 10,000 sqft of Banquet Space, and an upcoming 85 Room Candlewood Suites. Banquets and Social Event/Business Meetings will be a high focus for this position, with a support focus on hotel room nights. Daily touch points with local organizations and businesses, and consistent follow-up are critical to succeeding in this position. Other job responsibilities shall include:
- Outside sales within the local area, which will be within a 10+/- mile radius of the hotel
- Working with clients to work out details of upcoming events
- Daily prospecting using telephone and online searches
- Assisting and overseeing events at conference center as needed
- Presence and participation during scheduled functions at the conference center for prospecting
- Developing strategies for increasing overall business at the hotel, restaurant and conference center
- Implementing strategies that are already in-place to help drive sales
- Working closely with Managers and internal team members to drive sales by interacting with in-house guests
- Participating in budget meetings to help achieve bonuses for all team members
- Selling all aspects of the hotel, including small to large meetings, outdoor patio space and small luncheons at the restaurant, etc.
- Understanding and committing to the goals of the hotel and implementing them on a daily basis
- Actively solicit and sell the Burger Theory restaurant, lounge and private dining room to outside and in house guests.
Other Requirements and Responsibilities:
- Must exhibit the ability to build a rapport with all clients, brides, guests
- Development of strong customer relationships through client communication and demonstrate professional, courteous and ethical interpersonal interaction
- Maintain weekly reporting which will be subject to monitoring and oversight
- Fulfill event needs including BEO’s and backend billing to the client and positing within the internal revenue system
- Contact management with current clientele, previous clientele and prospecting for new accounts to keep a steady flow of bookings through personal professional action and company RFP’s
- Solicit all Galas, Weddings, Cultural Weddings, Mitzvahs, Fundraisers, Quinceaneras, Corporate Social events for conference space
- Expected to make an average of 15-20 minimum outside and inside sales calls or appointments touring the hotel with prospective clients each week
- Be involved with weekly department head meetings, sales meetings and revenue management calls every 2 weeks with RMH.
- Requires a working knowledge and monitoring of social networking including Facebook and LinkedIn
- Interaction with hospitality review sites such as Tripadvisor, Yelp and Heartbeat (IHG’s customer satisfaction site) and other social sites including: The Knot, Wedding Wire, Pintrist
- Possess or will acquire a working knowledge of Google Mail, Google Docs and Google Apps.
- Active in the community with networking events such as Business after 5, CVB and Joliet Chamber of Commerce, Wedding Expos with a proactive effort in building business
- As the position and skill sets evolve other responsibilities may be incorporated and will be discussed in person prior to any implementation
