About the Position:
The E-commerce Web Developer will manage website and web applications for market initiatives which improve performance of BEDGEAR's eCommerce website, both in the US and AUS, with more locations in development. You will work closely with a User Experience Manager in the New York office, as well as a team of overseas Back-End Developers and a team of marketing specialists.

If you're passionate about development, have an eye for design, and an obsession for details, then this role is for you. Primarily, you will be translating high-fidelity mockups to actual code that will produce visual elements of the application. Other projects include items like improving existing website applications, creating new applications to support eCommerce marketing initiatives, optimizing website performance, implanting new technologies and tools, improving SEO performance, and managing a large catalog of products.

What's Expected (including but not limited to):
  • Develop well-structured LESS, JavaScript, jQuery, PHTML, and HTML5 to build out large-scale, responsive websites and applications
  • Work with development team to QA code, ensuring quality and functionality meet project scope
  • Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability, constantly reviewing and improving frontend performance
  • Develop for cross-browser compatibility, responsive mobile-first approach, general web standards, and WCAG compliance
  • Develop within a team environment, utilizing version control and mutli-server testing
  • Maintain and enhance existing web applications, while ensuring that all internal systems are integrated
  • Transform high-fidelity project mockups into functional, pixel-perfect applications and pages for the web
  • Create meticulous documentation of methods used when developing for future growth within the dev department
  • Assist in collaborative efforts through all phases of our release life cycle, including requirements analysis, technical design, coding, testing, and post-release support.
  • Development for Magento that includes third-party module integrations and custom API development/integration
  • Effectively manage time across multiple projects and priorities while maintaining good organizational skills
Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and have IDs needed to verify
  • English proficient (reading, writing, speaking, comprehension)
  • Computer savvy; proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Must be extremely detail oriented and organized
Education/Experience/License Requirements:
  • 3-5 years general front-end development experience (HTML, PHTML, CSS/LESS, JavaScript and PHP)
  • 3-5 experience working with common development libraries including jQuery and Bootstrap
  • Comfortable developing on top of eCommerce/CMS Plaforms, Magento Commerce w/ Cloud hosting experience preferred
  • Experience with UI, cross-browser compatibility, responsive design, general web functions and standards
  • Basic knowledge of creative tools (Adobe XD, Adobe Photoshop, Figma, etc.)
  • Experience working with code versioning tools and source control such as Git
  • Understanding of WCAG requirements and best practices for website accessibility
  • Ability to be a self starter, interest in product development, capable of working independently as well as working within a team environment
  • Rooted understanding of how a mobile user experience differs from the experience on a web or other application, and how to develop for all screen sizes
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or closely related field highly preferred
  • Ability to operate on both macOS and Windows
