JOB SUMMARY
Dual role responsible for providing electronic health record systems (EHR) support, to include eMedsys, Dentrix, and other software solutions implemented from time to time; and for providing technical expertise to support the IT department with the automated information systems and processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct end user EHR training to new hires during new employee orientation sessions
- Develop training and reference guides as needed
- rovide staff additional or make-up training to new and existing staff as needed
- Design and create EHR clinical note templates and word merge templates, pursuant to end user specifications.
- Support implementation of new EHR software functionality. Includes assessment of new functionality, developing testing scenarios for new functionality.
- Serve as the liaison between the EMR vendor, providers and Clinic staff when indicated.
- Set timelines with internal management and staff with regard to software implementation, upgrades, or application of patches/fixes released by software vendors.
- Participate in the planning, design and implementation of EHR systems. Provide constructive input to improve EHR implementation and workflow.
- Troubleshoots end user problems and coordinates with providers, staff, and vendor to resolve issues and assumes accountability for timely completion of tasks.
- Review proposed changes or recommendations with applicable Team(s).
- Support super user and end user training efforts, as needed.
- Develops and maintains an understanding of all systems used in the IT Department.
- Provides technical support for the operating systems such as Point of Service (POS) system, and other system applications.
- Troubleshoots the initial assessment used to determine the source and severity of HelpDesk calls.
- Triages and prioritizes help/support calls.
- Coordinates with IT for on-site support, equipment repair, and installation of new equipment.
- Assists with routine maintenance of the various tables and databases used in the clinic information systems.
- Assists in creating support documentation for system changes and enhancements.
- Attends interdisciplinary meetings to discuss information systems and integrations with other systems when needed.
- Supports implementation of projects related to automated systems.
- Acts as a subject matter expert for training on specific systems as necessary.
- Assures compliance to all regulatory rules and regulations specific to: Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). State Boards of Pharmacy. HIPAA. Sarbanes-Oxley. Medicare part D. Other regulatory/oversight entities as necessary.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED certification required
- Minimum one (1) year of experience and/or training in Electronic Health Records and/or Information technology preferred.
- Associate's degree preferred but not required
- Certificate in Information Technology related area preferred.
- Background in Health Care preferred.
PAY RATE: $25-30/hr
