ELA K-8 Curriculum Writer Job at Private Label Staff
Seeking curriculum writers/reviewers who specialize in culturally relevant pedagogy to update an existing print K-8 ELA Reading/Writing curriculum. The project involves taking select modules/lessons from existing face-to-face instructional content and revising it to better align to CRP principles. The curriculum is organized into modules with each module focused on a particular theme and texts that align with the module theme. Existing content will likely be updated to focus on new text selections and/or revised to ensure that all experiences (formative/summative assessments, activities, projects) are culturally relevant.
Tasks may include:
- Redesigning module overviews to reflect planned content revisions
- Writing new or revising existing lessons, including writing text-depending questions and sample answers, designing new assessment opportunities, etc.
- Providing guidance for teachers on how to ensure content is culturally relevant to their students
- Creating student-facing handouts and sample answers
Successful candidates will have experience in K-8 teaching and curriculum writing for ELA, as well as a strong demonstrated experience designing culturally relevant curricula. We are looking to build a pool of qualified candidates for a potential project that would begin at some point in 2023. Projections on hours per week or project start are unavailable at this time.
