SUMMARY:

The Electrical Control Panel Designer is responsible for the design of electrical control panels and systems that run our proprietary lights, robots, pumps, motors, drivers, and various show equipment.

Work closely with Project Engineer’s, Architect’s, Onsite Fabrication Manufacturing, and Field Service Technicians to ensure design integrity and reliability.

YOU GET TO:

• Develop detailed electrical panel designs and generate equipment BOM’s and release ERO’s used to fabricate and assemble panels on-site
• Prepare detailed control system schematics to be released for production with the CD package, preliminary panel artwork documents and layout for the Design department, and single line diagrams to be included in the DD package
• Use UL 508A control panel design and engineering to ensure design integrity
• Respond to contractor electrical RFI’s and questions, follow the project schedule and ensure timely delivery, and support field installation

YOU BRING:

• Experience in the engineering electrical control systems with proven ability to accurately specify and interface PLC’s, power supplies, transformers, contactors, relays, VFD drives, fuse sizing and circuit protection, terminal blocks, wire gauge sizing, GFCI’s, E-stop systems and animation control systems
• Ability to accurately select motors, sensors, transmitters, level switches, solenoids, lighting and implement them in the control system design allowing for optimal, reliable performance
• Familiarity with electrical codes, contractor trade practices, methods and materials used in electrical installation
• Be proficient in 2D Design using AutoCAD
• Ability to prepare detailed schematics, functionality reports, schedules, BOM’s, and respond to field installation questions and accurately articulate resolutions
• Strong verbal communication skills, attention to detail and organizational abilities
• Ability to use Tact and Empathy when dealing with various departments such as Engineering, Production, Purchasing

EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

• 5+ years of experience with Electrical Panel Design
• Fluency with P&ID systems and schematics
• Proficient in 2D systems modeling on computer using AutoCAD
• UL508 and CE standards and spec writing
