The Electrical Discipline Chief Engineer will guide the engineering teams to ensure the best in class design, development of technologies, components, sub-systems, using better tools, and processes to ensure compliance to specifications, requirements, and customer guarantees across applicable operating conditions. As an engineer and leader you’ll promote technology development and ensure novel ideas and implementations are captured and protected using applicable IP tools and processes.

As a Chief Engineer and member of the Chief Engineering Office, the Electrical Chief Engineer will be responsible for guiding high performance teams. Guidance and mentoring at all levels of the total system product including concept, design and development, fabrication, modeling, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. The Electrical chief guides the electrical architecture studies, detailed electrical design process, integration, verification and validation, risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for electrical design of Fuel Measurement and Management, Proximity Sensing, and Brake Control as well as other aircraft systems.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Electrical Engineering best practices, processes and procedures within the Standard Work framework.
  • Implement and support Standard Work processes across all applicable development programs to deliver consistent results.
  • Work collaboratively with other Engineering disciplines, Programs, Operations, Quality and Customers to achieve optimal design solutions.
  • Chairs Design Reviews
  • Influences requirements management and validation with other teams and disciplines.
  • Ensures the correct decomposition of customer specifications and Electrical requirements into Circuit Design requirements, and generation of verification criteria and plans for the requirements.
  • Work closely with Program Managers and Program Chiefs to ensure customer satisfaction through careful planning, staffing, and execution of projects.
  • Participate in the proposal process to develop and review cost estimates, schedules and proposals packages where engineering resources are required

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Computer or Aerospace Engineering with 15 years related experience
  • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering, technical leadership, requirements management, software/hardware integration, aircraft integration, FAA certification, and technology development
  • Previous Aerospace Industry experience
