JOB SUMMARY
The electrical technician will perform work to maintain and repair the electrical & controls systems of production equipment.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform troubleshooting of electrical systems (motors, drives, transformers, capacitors, power supplies, wiring, sensors, and related)
- Connect to PLC and utilize knowledge of ladder logic to identify faults in the electrical system
- Program and adjust motor drive settings
- Assist electrical engineer in building and installation of electrical systems, including electrical panels, wiring harnesses, and other electrical equipment for new equipment and improvements to existing
- Respond quickly to all service requests and coordinate with leadership and team on resolution and timelines for underperforming/down equipment
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Must have knowledge of electrical systems and wiring (including 12/480 volts)
- Experience with Siemens/Allen Bradley PLC systems and ABB/Control Techniques motor drives
- Understanding of networks (ethernet, DeviceNet, and/or Profinet)
- Demonstrated ability to perform basic electrical calculations, read wiring diagrams, and understand ladder logic
- Self-motivated & works both independently and with a team to solve problems and implement solutions
- Application of safe work practices (arc flash training, PPE, LOTO)
- Ability to utilize Microsoft Office program suite
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Associates degree/certificate in related field or
- Comparable manufacturing experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift 25 lbs.
