Electronic Engineering Technician

The Musco Research and Development Team is currently seeking an Electronic Engineering Technician to work from our Oskaloosa office. This position will focus supporting engineering activities that lead to the release of new products and improvements to existing products. What you will do as an Electronic Engineering Technician:

• Under Supervision of engineers or senior technicians, construct protype circuit boards:
  • Gather and verify necessary components
  • Gather and verify associated documentation
  • Assemble boards by soldering through-hole and surface-mount components
• Build/assemble test fixtures and test set-ups as required.
• Assist with writing test plans and documenting results in reports.
• Perform functional testing and troubleshooting of prototypes using common test and measurement equipment.
• Perform testing and troubleshooting on devices returned from customer sites.
• Support Warranty, Field Service, and Manufacturing departments with product issues as needed.
• Assist in maintaining lab, including ordering supplies, test equipment, etc.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

What you need to be successful:

• Demonstrated PC proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Basic knowledge of electrical principles, practices, and devices.
• Ability to use common test and measurement equipment, oscilloscopes, multi-meters, etc.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic electrical hardware using schematics.
• Willingness to learn.
• Creative problem-solving skills
• Team player
• Self-motivated

Other special requirements:

• Up to 5% travel may be required. Travel includes trips to job sites, seminars, corporate and manufacturing facilities, and venders
• Overtime is required as needed including weekends
