Osborne is opening its first transitional housing and reentry program, The Fulton Community Reentry Center (Fulton). Fulton will provide 140 beds of transitional reentry housing to formerly incarcerated men who would otherwise be homeless after discharge from a correctional facility. Fulton will also provide onsite reentry services, including case management, benefits enrollment, employment, health, and substance use disorder treatment. The facility operates 365 days on a 24-hour basis daily, including evening and weekend hours (some positions will require non-traditional work hours).
We are seeking a full-time Employer Specialist to join Fulton Community Reentry Center. The Employer Specialist is responsible for making the connection(s) to employment opportunities that match our participants’ knowledge, skills, abilities, and interest. This position is responsible for creating new opportunities for employment. Lastly, some work requires supporting retention in collaboration with the Case Manager or Retention Specialist. The Employer Specialist reports to the Employer Specialist Supervisor.

- Build and maintain relationships with business representatives in the warehouse, food service, janitorial, and construction industries to promote Osborne’s clients
- Develop specific opportunities that match the skills, work experience, related training, interests, and background of Osborne clients
- Collect data from employers related to job orders, including a description of the position, physical requirements, certification and skills requirements, and wages and hours
- Pre-screen and vet candidates on behalf of the employers
- Conduct necessary follow-up with the employers when applicants are placed in positions to determine skills and training requirements for advancements
- Work with Career Coaches to develop training opportunities to meet employer demands
- Enter and maintain employer information, employer satisfaction, and placement verification data in the Salesforce database
- Keep current with trends and maintain updated labor market information by researching, attending meetings, and maintaining contacts with various trade schools and professional/community organizations that are involved in job placement/training activities, particularly within Osborne Association’s target industries
- Other duties as assigned.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
Experience
- Three years of sales experience and/or placement experience in either the public or nonprofit sector, or comparable recruiting experience for a corporation preferred.
- Marketing and/or public relations experience preferred.
- Experience in developing jobs appropriate for justice-involved individuals
- Knowledge of the New York City labor market trends, with expertise in the warehouse, janitorial, food service, construction, or related industries.
Related Skills or Knowledge:
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
- Knowledge of Salesforce software preferred.
