Partnerships for People, Inc. is seeking Employment Specialist (Job Coach) to join in the mission of partnering with people with disabilities to help build relationships and develop skills to live and work as valued members of their community.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Support people with intellectual disabilities in ways that demonstrate to the community, a belief in the philosophy of community inclusion and acceptance
  • Conduct skill assessments to analyze worker’s interests, employability, and job skills to develop employment opportunities for workers with developmental disabilities and other handicaps
  • Conduct and supervise job shadowing, job sampling, and job exploration activities
  • Train and support workers at various job sites and assist employers to incorporate employees fully into the work environment
  • Work with students with special needs to assist in their transition from school to the work environment
  • Develop relationships with the business community for job opportunities and/or job sampling sites
  • Support individuals to become independent, make decisions, and live a meaningful dignified life with valued social roles (ex: friend, neighbor, student, employee)

Job Details:

  • $17.50 per hour
  • Full Time, Part Time, and Casual/Per Diem positions available
  • Non-exempt, hourly position

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work flexible schedules and travel to various locations in multiple counties throughout New Jersey
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Valid New Jersey Driver’s License and properly insured and maintain personal vehicle
  • Successful completion of pre-employment process, including Background check and FBI clearances, MVR, Child Abuse Record Information (CARI) and Drug Testing

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • One year of experience in the human service field
