Position Summary

Our Encompass Administrators are the team responsible for configuration and customization of Ellie Mae Encompass 360 Bankers Edition. Your strong knowledge of the loan origination process and operational roles will help you excel in continuing to build Encompass to meet our business needs. This position will partner with team members from every level of the organization and collaborate with outside teams to improve performance and usability of the system. Critical thinking skills, paired with strong technical ability, are a must as we develop solutions for complex technical challenges while following best practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities.

  • Maintain Encompass company and user settings, including but not limited to personas, user groups and Roles, creating custom fields, custom print forms, data entry forms, and create templates such as closing cost scenarios, loan programs, etc.

    • Provide support for help desk requests from internal users while troubleshooting.
    • Work with project stakeholders at all levels to gather requirements, build solutions, and follow projects through UAT.
    • Manage daily Encompass Help Desk tickets while effectively balancing project load and deadlines.
    • Working with Senior Encompass Administrators and Ellie Mae technical support as needed.
    • Opening and managing cases with Ellie Mae Support and using the resource center to find solutions.
    • Ability to work with 3rd party integrations to Encompass and troubleshooting services.
    • Using VB.Net and/or C# to build solutions in Encompass.
    • Participate in testing and implementation of Encompass release upgrades.
    • Work during non-business hours to support release upgrade implementations.
    • Work with Held Desk operations during non-typical business hours, which may include an occasional holiday, for peak business periods.

Education and Experience

    • 3 or more years Ellie Mae Encompass Administration experience.
    • 3 or more years of mortgage industry experience with strong knowledge of general loan origination software and processes.
    • Knowledge/Experience with Ellie Mae products such as LO Connect, Consumer Connect, Investor Connect.
  • Encompass Administrator Certification is desired.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


    • Knowledge of Encompass integrations such as Blend, SimpleNexus, Consumer Connect, Optimal Blue, Salesforce, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac.

    • Encompass 360 experience with Encompass SDK stand-alone applications, plugins, codebase forms, creating dynamic input forms, managing the reporting database, advanced coding of business rules, admin knowledge etc.
    • Ability to understand software requirement specifications, deployment plans, and maintenance plans.
    • Experience in advanced coding of business rules, as well as coding skills such as VBScript/VB.NET/C#.
    • Working knowledge of Ellie Mae's TPO Connect.
    • Knowledge of system testing and ability to design, plan, and execute system testing strategies and tactics.
    • Design and implement solutions by creating new workflows, input forms, code base assemblies, plugins, and standalone applications
