Department Overview
Designs and develops manufacturing processes for products, taking into consideration problems inherent in the transfer of technology from research to manufacturing. Such design and development may include new or revised processes. Develops procedures for the economical mass production in cooperation with pilot-plant and production departments. Conducts tests and measurements throughout stages of production to determine control over applicable variables; and services, troubleshoots and solves production process problems with processes or equipment already in operation. Reviews field support requirements and recommends tools and test equipment. Determines maintenance and repair materials required for deployment. May make recommendations concerning acquisition and use of new technological equipment and materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Revise, edit, maintain, and update production process plans, and manufacturing work instruction information integrity after the migration process to ensure correctness and completeness.
- Identify and support implementation of manufacturing process improvements including following up with action owners until completion.
- Create Part Valuation Allocations baselines based on Bill of Materials (BOM) and allocate contract deltas to the parts.
- Define new engine parts from validated Engineering Changes for each of the engine programs.
- Ensure module centers are compliant with quality specifications and support Key Product Characteristics management.
- Review supplier transitions for consistency, risk, completion, validity (high and low risk), project management, and work with multifunctional roles / departments (quality and engineering).
- Research, analyze, and get all the details about the tools, methodologies, and processes for projects within the manufacturing services.
- Entry-level professional contributor on a project or work team.
- Has theoretical knowledge. Problems faced may be difficult or complex.
- Work is moderately supervised. Influences others within the work area through explanation of facts, policies, and practices
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, Industrial, Aerospace or Quality Engineering. Preferred: Industrial Engineering.
- US citizenship required due to government contracts
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Fluent in English (verbal/written)
Preferred Qualifications
- High proficiency in MS Office suite
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Strong administrative skills: Must be able to manage multiple tasks and adhere to specific timetables
- Detailed and process oriented
- Ability to work in a team environment
- This position requires 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).
