Summary of Responsibilities

Assists the Project Manager in managing projects of large dollar amounts, technical complexity, and political sensitivity. The Engineer Technician will setup and maintain project document filing systems, setup and maintain project and stormwater asset GIS databases, process project payments, help develop cost estimates for budgeting purposes, track project schedules, and assist in the development of project scopes requiring input from multiple stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assist with development of project budgets of significant complexity which may have multiple funding sources. Assist with determining funding requirements and monitoring status of allocated funds. Assists the Project Manager/County Administrator in the management of County projects among the various departments. Participate in conferences with representatives of other levels of government, regulatory agencies, funders, contractors etc. as it relates to project management. Work is reviewed by the Project Manager through meetings, reports and observations of results achieved. Coordinates with department personnel and consults to ensure planning and monitoring construction projects are in accordance with county specifications. Maintains project document filing and storage systems (electronic and hard copy documents). Data entry and tracking of project related payments after Project Manager review and approval. Data entry and maintenance of project as-built information, existing stormwater infrastructure, marine related items, etc. within GIS mapping and databases.

Education and/or Experience

Associates Degree or its equivalent is required. Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a closely related field is preferred. Certification in the field, professional licensure, or on track for professional licensure is preferred, and a minimum of two (2) years engineering or construction related experience. Experience must have included construction project quantity estimating or tracking, preparation of construction documents, and computer drafting. PREFERENCE FOR: Government project work experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
