Position Summary

As an Engineer Design Tech at Key, you will design, specify and test major systems, subsystems and components of process and conveying systems.

Wages for this position range from $23.00 to $26.00 depending upon experience.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Reviews rough sketches, drawings, specifications, and other engineering data received from Design Engineers, Engineering Technicians, and/or Project Engineers
  • Drafts detailed drawings of all necessary elements of a required design including but not limited to assemblies, sub-assemblies, weldments, Sheetmetal flat patterns, and installation drawings
  • Computes weights of components, center of gravity, speed, and stroke using computer aided design tools
  • Develops detailed Bills of Materials
  • Works in cooperation with Sales Engineers, Customer Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing, and other Project Engineering personnel
  • Works with frequent supervision (level I), infrequent supervision (level II), and limited supervision (level III)
  • Must recognize areas of technical requirements that need the advice and/or attention of qualified personnel
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent from two-year college
  • Minimum of two years CAD drafting experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Solidworks experience preferred
