Job Title – Environmental Field Scientist

Department – Forensic Americas

Reports To – District Manager

Employment/FLSA Status – Full-time/Exempt


Overview

The staff environmental scientist conducts assessments and investigations of environmental impacts of properties caused by fire, water, and chemicals.

Essential Job Functions

  • Customer service.
  • Conduct assessments of environmental impacts to properties caused by fire, water, and chemicals.
  • Conduct field investigations, including the collection of various types of environmental samples.
  • Assess environmental conditions and exposures.
  • Assess environmental controls and recommend restoration activities.
  • Produce written reports.

Required Education and Certifications

  • Associates Degree.
  • Environmental assessment certification and, or license.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • One year of experience collecting environmental samples (air, water, soil, surfaces).
  • Strong understanding of lead, asbestos, and mold Environmental Industry.
  • Above-average background in the construction industry, restoration, and water mitigation.
  • Proficient using MS Word and Outlook.
  • History managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Background or interest in science.
  • Above-average multitasking skills.
  • Individual must be self-motivated and a team player.

Physical Demands and Travel Requirements

Physical Demands- Employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, bend, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear. The position requires the ability to speak, write, and communicate clearly. Employee may lift and move up to 50 pounds.

Travel Requirements – Travel requirements up to 50%.

The Salary Range for this position is $50,000 - $70,000 and is dependent on education, experience, location and certifications/licensure.
