Purpose

The purpose of this role is to minimize recordable & lost work injuries through ongoing development & enforcement of company environmental, health, & safety policies. This person will also ensure company compliance to all local, state & federal regulations.

Duties

· Develop new EHS programs for new facilities, processes, &/or machines.

· Responsible for Emergency Action Plan, Spill Prevention & Control, Hazardous Materials Waste Plan, Facility Safety Manual, and any other procedure regarding Environmental, Health, or Safety.

· Ensure company is following all regulations including but not limited to air emissions, stormwater runoff, hazardous waste, radiation safety.

· Conduct employee training to ensure compliance of all company, state, & federal policies.

· Conduct &/or facilitate mobile equipment training & certification for forklift, skid steer, front end loader, aerial work platform.

· Keep accurate records of all EHS activity: employee training, SDS database, OSHA reporting, etc. Provides Operations with safety metrics to support business safety initiatives.

· Monitor employee health with periodic testing for respirators, hearing, radiation exposure.

· Monitor machine & facility compliance regarding dust, noise, CO2, radiation, and other environmental/health concerns.

· Ensure employees have access to proper PPE for the job.

· Assume responsibilities of the Radiation Safety Officer; Radiation training, inspections, & compliance.

· Guide Facility Safety Committees and be a resource as needed.

· Conduct periodic site inspections to ensure compliance or note deficiencies so corrective actions can be put in place.

· Respond to emergencies during & off shift times. Perform accident & incident investigations using root cause analysis to recommend & implement corrective actions

· EHS Manager may be directed to perform & complete other tasks as deemed appropriate by management that may, or may not, be directly related to Safety issues.

Minimum Requirements

· Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene or related field OR equivalent work experience.

· General understanding & working knowledge of local, State, & Federal permits for Air, Water, & Land.

· General understanding & working knowledge of OSHA regulations well enough to interpret, inspect, & train all company personnel.

· Experience in developing & implementing EHS programs (3-5 years)

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
