Responsibilities
SUMMARY
Enter and monitor daily charges to ensure accuracy and compliance, track documentation and assign codes via the CDM for outpatient services including, but not limited to the emergency department, urgent care clinics, radiation oncology, infusion services, radiology departments and other hospital based clinics. May also assist with billing edits and auditing as needed.

Qualifications
MINIMUM
High school graduate/GED or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Typing speed of 65 wpm and 225 kpm (10 key)
Must possess certified Coding Credentials CCS, CPC, or CCA.
Ability to work independently and coordinate issues with Medical record/HIM and ER department
Excellent communication skills
General office skills
Personal computer operations, encoder software, word processing software, and health information management software applications
Able to work in a fast pace environment.
PREFERRED
Medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, English composition or equivalent training/experience.
Minimum of one (1) year acute care hospital DRG coding experience.
3M or other encoder experience.
1-2 years experience in billing or hospital/physician based coding.
