Our ER is looking for a "tech/sec". This position splits time between working the floor as a tech and helping our providers and interfacing with our SMC team as a unit assistant. The AS NEEDED hours of this position may be a good fit for a student, depending on your class schedule. It is a year-round position.

Here's the deets:
This position is PRN. Shifts are as needed and there is no guarantee of hours. Usual fill-in shifts are 0700-1700 and 1300-0100. You'll work every other weekend and will be part of the holiday rotation.

JOB SUMMARY:
Highly skilled, experienced Nursing Aide/Technician who acts as role model in patient care.
Responsible for the clerical functions of unit and assisting in coordination of unit activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum age of 18 years
  • Completion of EMT or Nurse Assistant training or acceptable patient care experience in a hospital, nursing home, or related health care facility
  • 40 wpm preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to function in stressful situations
  • Current CPR card or completion of course within 30 days of hire
  • Possesses basic computer skills
  • CPI Education within one year of employment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must have strength and stamina for prolonged walking, standing, and dealing with stressful situations.
  • Able to hear or correctable with hearing devices, and able to talk to converse with others in person and over the phone.
  • Able to frequently lift at least 60 lbs., reach, pull, push, bend, stoop, and kneel.
  • Demonstrate adequate vision or correctable with glasses, to read and write.
  • Able to hear, see, and feel to accurately assess, monitor, and administer care.
  • Possesses fine motor skills and hand/eye coordination to give care (i.e.: insert catheters, administer medications, and handle instruments).
  • Able to work in a latex burdened environment.
