LCRA is looking for a Business Systems Analyst to join the Corporate Accounting team. You will serve as a key resource to ensure overall success of our Accounting processes especially around Billing/Accounts Receivable and Customer Contract related processes through system support. This is an exciting opportunity to support not only the Corporate Accounting team, but the company as a whole. Our ideal candidate is someone who enjoys and thrives in reporting, prioritizing and analyzing reported problems through to resolution, is eager to troubleshoot issues and provide solutions, has an appetite for new challenges, and brings process improvement ideas (proactive and reactive). This position requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise. You will be part of a high-functioning team aimed at supporting the organization in the most effective way by providing ERP support, system configuration, system security maintenance and administration of the overall tool. You get the opportunity to work with a diverse group of individuals from Digital Services, Facilities, Generation, Transmission, Parks, Public Safety and Water. You are skilled and fully proficient in an ERP system (PeopleSoft Accounts Receivable/Billing/Customer Contracts would be helpful) with which you will interpret business issues and recommend best practices.
You will be trusted to:
- 5+ years experience with an ERP system
- Experience with ERP and the integration between various modules within ERP.
- Knowledge of software and database systems used in financial reporting (such as SQL, Oracle, etc.)
- Knowledge of IT system development life cycle methodologies
- Knowledge of business systems analysis and business process management techniques
- Knowledge of project management techniques
- Serve as a liaison between Operations and IT to gather business requirements related to system modifications, enhancements and implementations
- Collaborate closely with developers to implement requirements, develop and execute test plans. Provide technical direction and ensure compliance with best practice solutions.
- Provide necessary guidance to testers during QA (Quality Assurance) process
- Review and assist in preparation and maintenance of training materials, training schedules and/or documentation to conduct training for key personnel
- Support system conversions, upgrades, enhancements
- Must have experience working on large scale projects as well as handling day-to-day operational requests from the business
- Strong numeric and analytical skills
- Ability to balance and manage competing high priority work demands
- Ability to meet deadlines under tight time constraints
- Ability to build relationships and foster teamwork
- Knowledge of internal control concepts and applications
- Skill in verbal and written communication
You qualify with:
- Nine or more years of experience in developing and documenting business requirements and serving as a finance/accounting liaison between business partners and IT.
- A degree(s) in accounting, business, computer science, information systems or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
