White Lake Beach Supper Club is seeking a creative and hardworking Chef to lead our fast-paced kitchen. This position will require someone who is self-motivated, responsible, and looking to develop their skills to make a name for themselves in the Northern Wisconsin food scene. We look for strong communication skills, high standards for customer service, and productive leadership abilities. If you are looking to be known for preparing quality meals and running a successful kitchen, this may be the opportunity for you. This role will alternate in leading line as well as plating overseeing large catering events. In our kitchen, this role also shares opening closing duties.
This is the perfect opportunity for some who is seeking an environment where they can exercise their culinary knowledge and skills through their own menu creations and catering portfolio. A minimum of 2 years of line cook experience is required. Culinary education and knowledge of local food is a plus! POSITIVE, PROFESSIONAL ATTITUDE AND PHYSICAL HARD WORK ARE ESSENTIAL.
Responsibilities
Help prepare and design restaurant menus
Produce high quality plates- visually appealing and refined
Ensure kitchen operations are timely and meet top quality standards
Planning and directing food preparation when necessary
Resourceful problem solving
Manage and train kitchen staff
Establish staff schedules and assess personnel performance
Order supplies and stock inventory appropriately
Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards
Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Skills
Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
Managerial- kitchen and staff
Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions
Familiar with industry’s best practices
Qualifications
Experience as a Sous Chef or Kitchen Manager
