Extrusion Operator Job at COASTAL EMPLOYMENT
Pay: $15 per hour until fully trained
Shift: 6:00 am – 6:00 pm & 6:00 pm – 6:00 am
Job Description:
Responsibilities
· Maintaining and operating plastic extrusion machinery and handling raw material for extrusion operations.
· Setting up tools and calibrators.
· Starting up various profiles, ensuring start-up procedures are followed.
· Visual check of the entire extruder before starting up to ensure no tools are left on the table.
· Make minor adjustments to equipment
· Constantly inspecting the line for quality products and early identification of issues.
· Communicating to production supervisor regarding maintenance, scrap, and shift change reports.
· Maintaining a clean work environment.
· Troubleshooting when issues arise.
· Tagging tools when removed to a line to indicate if maintenance is required.
· Continuous learning
Qualifications/Demands
· Previous manufacturing experience – preferably in a continuous process environment or plastics environment
· Proven ability to follow standards, rules, policies, work instructions directions
· Ability to operate equipment - mechanical aptitude and reasoning ability- understands the importance of machine set-up - the need to make premium quality every time
· Have a quality focus
· Ability to use measuring equipment
· Forklift license/experience
· Strong math and computer skills
· Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with frequently changing dynamics
· Great organizational skills
· Ability to follow workflow & schedules
· Energetic, punctual, reliable, and able to work as a team player or independently
· Previous experience in a continuous production process, setting up, troubleshooting, tear downs, change overs
· Good communication skills
· Attention to detail

- 12 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
- Overnight shift
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Early Branch, SC: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
