Pratt & Whitney (P & W) Military Engines F135 Fleet Operations is seeking a Field Service Engineer and Site Manager to represent the P & W Team at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, CA. This position operates in a high visibility and team-oriented environment at this F-35B Marine Corps operational site.
As a FSE/Site Manager, you will provide planning and support for F-35B/F135 operations to include, systems, tooling, material, and processes. The FSE/Site Manager will have hands-on interaction with the engine, aircraft, and personnel from the Marine Air Group (MAG) and various squadrons.
This position of leadership and management at this US Marine Corps location will work closely with P & W Customer Engineering, MAG-11 leadership, Marine Fighter-Attack Squadron (VMFA)-314 leadership, Marine Fighter-Attack Training Squadron (VMFAT)-502 leadership and Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron (MALS)-11 Departments in troubleshooting and resolution of emerging customer issues and maintain flexibility to resolve constantly changing customer priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate requires an extensive background in logistics and supply management.
- You will use self-initiative and judgment to identify problems, conduct investigations to determine root cause, and coordinate solutions between P & W, Rolls-Royce, Lockheed Martin and the US Government.
- This position also will coordinate field issues with CSE Engineering, Fleet Asset Management, and Supply Chain Management.
- Lead and team with other P & W on-site personnel to achieve F-35 program, Environment, Health and Safety, employee fulfillment, and P & W Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) initiatives
- You will support first, and second shift rotation as required to meet customer support objectives and priorities.
- Expected travel, and shipboard operations support are required and part of the team concept.
- The applicant should expect to be on travel or providing shipboard support for approximately 20%-30% of their time.
Basic Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in an engineering or related technical field. Non-technical degrees will be considered if the candidate has appropriate / related experience.
- A minimum of 8+ years of professional experience in F135 engine maintenance, logistics, and logistics support is required, including supply chain management and Support Equipment management.
- At least 3 years of Supervisory/Leadership experience required.
- Experience with US Marine Corps Aviation to include shipboard and remote site operations.
- Must be able to travel or provide shipboard or TDY support 20-30% of the year.
- Must be U.S. Citizen due to government contracts
- Candidate must possess a US Govt. Secret Clearance or have the ability to secure one for position requirements. Candidates that have had a clearance that has recently lapsed (not more than 2 years), may apply for consideration.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in ITAR/ITC is desired for this assignment.
- Strong presentation, communication, and leadership skills
- Proficiency in MS Office products, specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
