Facilities Construction & Maintenance Technician

Moss landing, CA / OPERATIONS / FULL-TIME

Verdagy is creating a new class of very large-scale hydrogen electrolyzers that will help decarbonize some of the most difficult to abate sectors of our global economy. Our approach is to design large modular skid-mounted hydrogen electrolyzers that will be used to architect very large-scale hydrogen production plants.

The Facilities Construction and Maintenance Technician position is ideally suited for someone with hands-on mechanical/maintenance/construction experience who can help with general construction and labor to support Verdagy’s Moss Landing location as a whole, as well as support the pilot plant with pipefitting and plumbing of utilities and process piping, and assist the operations team with process equipment installation.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

· Comply with environmental, health and safety standards

· Install piping and equipment

· Organize work areas

· Measure material requirements and collect appropriate material and follow all inventory controls

· Drywall/plaster repair and painting

· Furniture assembly and relocation

· Plumbing repairs, replacements, installation

· Carpentry repairs and installations (doors, shelves, countertops)

· Concrete installation and repairs

· Perform tasks assigned to the Operations department including and not limited to; housekeeping, reporting of spills or dangerous conditions, waste management, etc.

PRIOR EXPERIENCE & PROFESSIONAL QUALITIES

· Health, safety, and environmentally conscious

· Experience with general maintenance and construction:

o PVC/CPVC plumbing

o Concrete

o Framing

o Carbon steel pipe fitting experience preferred

o Welding experience preferred

· Highly collaborative spirit with strong team and interpersonal skills

· Experience driving forklifts and aerial lifts

· Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job as follows:

o Use safety equipment that is rated for a person who weighs 300 pounds or less

o Lift 55 lbs, climb stairs and ladders

o Work in confined spaces

o Wear all required personal protective equipment

o Stand 70% of the time
