I. Job Summary:
Responsible for executing all site purchasing decisions and general maintenance of research facility. The position will maintain a vendor database and provide support for all purchasing decisions. The position will also maintain documentation for the maintenance of all facility equipment and OSHA compliance as required by company SOPs. Install, operate, maintain and repair any and all building systems or oversee responsible vendors. Responsible for the overall building and equipment maintenance and up keep. Perform corrective and preventive maintenance work orders related to the building and building systems.
A. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains a database of vendors for all services needed by the site, and serves as the primary vendor contact for the site.
- Obtains quotes and price comparisons for purchases or study proposals as requested by the Site Director.
- Executes purchases from selected vendors by completing the appropriate corporate and/or site forms.
- Communicates site purchase information to the Accountant for accrual purposes.
- Work with the operational staff on each new study to ensure that all study supplies will be available on schedule and within the study budget.
- Work with the operational staff on each new study to create/obtain the study menu. Places orders with all food vendors and monitors quality of service by obtaining feedback from staff and study participants.
- Participate in EHS initiatives and internal and regulatory audit in areas of expertise
- Maintains calibration and maintenance records for all site equipment as required by company SOPs.
- Maintain equipment and building systems in the TMS system.
- Performs daily temperature checks for all facility temperature monitoring locations (sample freezers, drug refrigerators, drug storage rooms, etc).
- Oversee all OSHA/biohazard requirements at the site and serve as safety officer of site
- Provide general maintenance support to site and work directly with landlord on site improvements.
- Troubleshoots and repairs all mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment or oversees responsible vendor(s) .
- Ensure facility is maintained and kept clean on a routine basis per OSHA requirements.
Education/Qualifications: Required:
- Associate Degree or trade school (HVAC, mechanical equipment operation, sheet metal work, plumbing or electrical trades, specialized training completion of apprenticeship or similar on-the-job training program).
II. Experience: Required:
- 2 to 4 years related experience in a related facilities role
- Additional experience may be substituted for education requirements.

IV. Working Conditions:
- Handling of biologically hazardous or radiolabeled material is necessary.
- Must be able to see (distinguish colors) and hear to meet, if necessary, the job requirements.
- Must be able to use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools or controls, including a computer keyboard, for up to 6 hours per day.
- Must be able to stand and/or bend for up to 6 hours per day
- Climbing ladders and working in confined spaces is necessary.
- Must be able to lift 100 lbs or more
